The tracing microconference will not be about presentations. It will be a plenary meeting of all participants in order to try and solve the issues within the tracing community.
Currently, there are many players: ftrace (with trace-cmd and kernelshark), perf (both kernel and userspace), systemtap, LTTng. There are also a need to get a programmable dynamic filtering into the kernel. This will require ktap and the BPF system coming together.
Integration between the tracers
Use of the CTF among the different tracers
Integrating out of tree tracers in the kernel more (LTTng and systemtap)
Dynamic programming, how to move forward, use of BPF and integration with other tools
Updating function tracing to handle live patching
Lowering tracepoint bloat
There will be no presentations. This will be a conference to get things done and not talk about what people are working on. The Tracing Summit that will be held before hand will have plenty of time for that.
