The tracing microconference will not be about presentations. It will be a plenary meeting of all participants in order to try and solve the issues within the tracing community.

Currently, there are many players: ftrace (with trace-cmd and kernelshark), perf (both kernel and userspace), systemtap, LTTng. There are also a need to get a programmable dynamic filtering into the kernel. This will require ktap and the BPF system coming together.

• Integration between the tracers
• Use of the CTF among the different tracers
• Integrating out of tree tracers in the kernel more (LTTng and systemtap)
• Dynamic programming, how to move forward, use of BPF and integration with other tools
• Updating function tracing to handle live patching
• Lowering tracepoint bloat

There will be no presentations. This will be a conference to get things done and not talk about what people are working on. The Tracing Summit that will be held before hand will have plenty of time for that.
