Microconference on File and Storage Systems

The Linux Plumbers 2012 Microconference - The File and Storage microconference is going to be a double session so we can fit a wide range of topics in. Anything is fair game - traditional or new file and storage systems, configuration and management, user space file systems, network file systems and anything else that can store your data (or lose it when done badly!).

When submitting a proposal for this track, use the prefix “lpc2012-lsf-” for the “Name” field.

Possible topics are the following:

• Challenges in SSD devices
• New types of storage
• Local file systems
• Network file systems
• User space file systems
• New device mapper or software RAID implementations
• Erasure encoding for data
• IO scheduling
• Support for virtualization

• Hinting vs Heuristics: Plumbing I/O Cache Hints Through the Linux Storage Stack - Dan Williams
• NFS advanced projects: Jeff Layton, Bruce Fields, Chuck Lever
